Orkney, Scotland - 18 YEAR OLD is Highland ParkR17;s most awarded whisky for good reason. Crafted using a high proportion of first-fill sherry seasoned European oak casks, it is the perfect expression of harmony, complexity, and refinement: rich and expertly balanced with a toffee sweetness and a mouthwatering smoky finish. Highland Park 18 Year Old was named ”Best Spirit in the World” by the Spirit Journal on two separate occasions and was awarded the Chairman’s Trophy for Best Island Single Malt Scotch at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in 2018 and again in 2019.
|STANDING APART NOT STANDING ALONE
We are the product of our people, our location and our history.
MADE WITH PRIDE ON ORKNEY
Our whisky, like our island home, is shaped by a wild climate and stormy seas, and by the Vikings who settled here over 1,000 years ago, leaving their mark on our people and our culture.
OUR VIKING SOULS
There are people, near and far, whose passion and skill ensures that they - and our whisky - stand apart.
Whiskey Advocate 91 points - This is one of four new additions to the portfolio in 2018, and is the pick of the bunch. It is a ‘marrying-strength’ variant of the 18 year old, relaunched in 2017. Treacle tart, sweet woodsmoke, and milky coffee on the robust nose. The palate is voluptuous, with tangy orange, malt, and more woodsmoke. Milk chocolate and smoky Jaffa oranges in the finish. Ultimate Beverage Challenge 97 points - Bold and impressive nose of heather honey, nougat, cocoa nibs, smoke, and stewed cherry. Malted chocolate titillates the tongue, with a kick of peat smoke pleasantly drying out the palate before hints of salted almond butter and coffee liqueur come forward. - 2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge (Chairman’s Trophy) (Apr 2018)
UBC Finalist 100 points - Opening aromas are of sea breeze, cigar smoke, oak and malted barley; air contact releases light caramel, fudge, cocoa bean, burnt candle wick and heather. Entry is the most complex of any whisky; midpalate soars on oak, spirit and grain tastes. The greatest distilled spirit of this generation. Buy whatever you can find.
